I Scream U Scream Liam Loves Ice Cream!

Sunday is kids eat free day at our local Dickey's BBQ, and boy do we love us some Dickey's! :)

Lately Liam has been very difficult at meal time. He now has 6 teeth, and seems to think that is all the qualifications needed to eat any and everything on our plates. With this new sense of confidence, he absolutely refuses to eat anything out of a jar or otherwise. Really tough!

Liam settled for a lunch of green beans and pieces of my baked potato. After eating their lunches it was time for the girls and Daddy to get their much anticipated Dickey’s ice cream cones. Liam tactfully began talking to Jay, clearly saying his favorite word “Dadda Dadda”, followed with his irresistible wave. This of course led to Jay picking up Liam and holding him in his lap.

As you can see… this was just a ploy.
Liam didn’t want his Daddy he wanted his Ice Cream.

Surprisingly, there were no tummy aches or brain freezes.
Just sweet happy baby Liam smiles.

Happy Birthday Bug

It’s official Elle is 3, Happy Birthday little princess!!
~

We took the easy way out and had her a little party at daycare.
She wanted it at a park and thankfully the school let us have the party outside by their playground.
It was sweet and fun.

The last 3 years have been more fun than we ever imagined.
Elle is a true gift, and we thank God for her everyday.

7 Months ~ Already??!!

Wow, what an amazing 7 months! Our little Liam is a true joy, already full of inquiry and wonder, never stops moving and has fully mastered his little walker.

Besides chasing his sisters Elle and Julia, his next favorite thing is chasing our cat Cuddles. Oddly, Cuddles seems to enjoy it, she’ll entice his interests and only move when he gets about a foot away. Its rather entertaining.

As for his development, he’s right on target and has started to sit on his own, is trying to feed himself and crawling backwards… we completely expect him to make forward progress any day now.

Liam has brought a new sweetness to our family, one we didn’t know was missing, and now one we couldn’t live without. He’s wonderful and we’re all in love with him.

LIFE’S GREAT!

Elle's Mustache

This weekend Jay, myself Elle and Liam went to Jay’s parents house for some grilled up hamburgers and other goodies. We were joined by Uncie Eric, ME and Uncle Mark.

Our little Elle talked the whole day, even before this point, and has really taken to the art of story telling. Really entertaining stuff!

Well at dinner the conversation went the way of Grandpa showing off the skill of whistling through his hands. (You know, the cup your hands together, seal if with your thumbs and blow, all the while fluttering the outside fingers to change the tone. Yeah, I cannot do it either.)

As Grandpa struggled to make the tone, Elle said, rather honestly,
“Oh My Daddy can do that,” almost shrugging off his show of talent.

She turned to Jay waiting for him to do it, all the while our whole table giggling.

Jay played the tune, and Elle smiled, letting Grandpa know Daddy did it best. Grandpa tried again, Elle turned to Daddy and said "do it again!"

Finally we all let her know that Grandpa had taught Daddy to whistle like that and one day her Daddy would teach her.

Jay confirmed this stating “Of Course I will teach you... when the time is right”… as if to imply it was a special art he would pass down only when she was ready.

Then our sweet Elle asked “You will teach me,
When I have a mustache?”

The next 5 minutes were spent with us all wiping the tears away as we gasped for air through the laughter and cursing it wasn’t caught on tape.

Daddy calmly explained to Elle why she wouldnt have a mustache, hopefully. :)
